Mary and Brian, 1st October 2010, Lyrath Hotel
Just getting around to posting Mary and Brians highlight's from their wedding in the beginning of October. I'm delighted with the photos - but they had to be gorgeous as it was such a great day! Mary is absolutely stunning, the Lyrath Hotel in Kilkenny was a fabulous venue and we were blessed with sunshine all day long!

Ghoulish games!
Great half term with the kids. The Saturday before Halloween their cousins came over and we played 'bushtucker trials' with sardines, olives, broccoli and blue cheese. (Wouldn't recommend the blue cheese, I have video footage of poor Alex vomiting!) Then 'Mummy wrap' but somehow it was the Dads that ended up in all the toilet paper!
Hope you had a great Halloween!

Lisa and Nigel, Barberstown Castle
Lisa and Nigel viewed their photos on Wednesday and they loved them. I'm delighted they are happy as it was such a fabulous day, I wanted to do it justice. Lisa was absolutely stunning, the ceremony was really relaxed and intimate, and Barberstown Castle was an amazing venue. I loved all the great locations for taking photographs, and the really friendly and accomodating staff there. Here are a few images from the lovely day.

Sneak peak - Mary and Brian
I had a fantastic time shooting Mary and Brian's wedding in Kilkenny last Friday. Mary was stunning, the Lyrath Hotel was a super venue, and the sun shone gloriously all day long.
The lovely couple are off on honeymoon, so I'll post their slideshow on their return. But here's a little sneak peak!

Mr Bond I presume ...?
Why would a six year old boy put on a Tshirt, when he could put on a tux?!
Alex had been wearing this tuxedo jacket constantly since we got it for my brother's wedding last year. He wore it playing outside, shopping, going to the cinema, etc, and I had to beg him not to wear it when we were going visiting anyone - it's threadbare, filthy and way too small! But he hadn't put it on for a while, and when he came downstairs in it earlier to go collect the others from school, it was actually a nice surprise.
So just in case he doesn't put it on again ...

A little sneak peak ...
Lisa and Nigel are such a lovely couple, so relaxed and kind. And these sentiments were reflected in their gorgeous day. Lisa was a classically beautiful bride, and Nigel couldn't have been more besotted. They have headed off on their honeymoon, so I'll blog more photos when they have had a chance to have to view them first.

Can't wait for tomorrow!
Can't wait to shoot Lisa and Nigel's wedding tomorrow!
That sounds wonderfully confident, but to be honest shooting the wedding is so much easier than the stomach churning anticipation of shooting the wedding!
The days before are about lists, plans, (backup plans!), but on the day its just about capturing the beauty, emotion and story of what's happening all around you .
You work hard on the day, always looking for the key moments, the most beautiful angle. You completely forget yourself and become immersed in day, the guests, the setting. And mostly you try to look from the couple's perspective, to see the day through their eyes and capture their reactions and emotions.
The day passes so quickly, but hopefully in your album they will have the memories forever.

These kids are going to be big!!
24"x16" canvases actually!
Leigh is making her communion next week, and we're trying to make our house presentable. So after giving all grubby surfaces a fresh coat of white paint, thought I'd better hang something on the walls. These went off to the printer this morning - very excited to see them next week!
