Mr Bond I presume ...?

Why would a six year old boy put on a Tshirt, when he could put on a tux?!

Alex had been wearing this tuxedo jacket constantly since we got it for my brother's wedding last year. He wore it playing outside, shopping, going to the cinema, etc, and I had to beg him not to wear it when we were going visiting anyone - it's threadbare, filthy and way too small! But he hadn't put it on for a while, and when he came downstairs in it earlier to go collect the others from school, it was actually a nice surprise.

So just in case he doesn't put it on again ...

A little sneak peak ...

Lisa and Nigel are such a lovely couple, so relaxed and kind. And these sentiments were reflected in their gorgeous day. Lisa was a classically beautiful bride, and Nigel couldn't have been more besotted. They have headed off on their honeymoon, so I'll blog more photos when they have had a chance to have to view them first.

Can't wait for tomorrow!

Can't wait to shoot Lisa and Nigel's wedding tomorrow!

That sounds wonderfully confident, but to be honest shooting the wedding is so much easier than the stomach churning anticipation of shooting the wedding!

The days before are about lists, plans, (backup plans!), but on the day its just about capturing the beauty, emotion and story of what's happening all around you .

You work hard on the day, always looking for the key moments, the most beautiful angle. You completely forget yourself and become immersed in day, the guests, the setting. And mostly you try to look from the couple's perspective, to see the day through their eyes and capture their reactions and emotions.

The day passes so quickly, but hopefully in your album they will have the memories forever.

Little dudes

These little dudes made me smile with every image I edited. Sometimes editing is a chore, and sometimes a real pleasure.

Leigh and her 'BFF's!

A couple of weeks ago, we put the girls back in their communion dresses and brought them up to the park for a mini portrait session.
Don't they look angelic. But ... if I get a chance at some stage I'll post some pictures of them vamping it up behind the scenes - hilarious!!

These kids are going to be big!!

24"x16" canvases actually!
Leigh is making her communion next week, and we're trying to make our house presentable. So after giving all grubby surfaces a fresh coat of white paint, thought I'd better hang something on the walls. These went off to the printer this morning - very excited to see them next week!

All you need is a window ...

We built an extension on our house for the purpose of my photography, and on days where I feel pretentious, I like to call it 'my studio'. Photosessions here are very relaxed, I like my clients to feel as if they were bringing their kids to play in a friends house. There is never any rush on my part, lots of tea/coffee/fruit juice on hand, and biscuits and treats as bribery if allowed!

But sometimes its easier for me to come to you. And that is not a problem, I quite enjoy the variety. For a photosession with a new baby all I need is a window, I'd usually ask you to strip down a bed, so we have a nice plain and soft surface and off we go.

Siobhan and John had a family session a few weeks ago in Dundalk, and have kindly agreed to let me blog a slideshow of their photosession, just click the link below.
